Statistically Speaking
Last school year, a record number of Carnegie Mellon students chose to study abroad, from the fall, spring, and summer semesters to a full academic year. While the most popular destination continued to be countries in Europe, students traveled everywhere from China to Australia to the campus in Doha, Qatar. Here are some statistics on students' study abroad habits in the past few years:
Number of students who studied abroad in the 2007–2008 year: 370
Number of students who studied abroad in the 2006–2007 year: 260
Number of students who studied abroad in the 2001–2002 year: 214
Number of students who traveled abroad for summer 2008: 154
Number of students who traveled abroad for a full academic year in 2007–2008: 19
Percentage of students who studied abroad in a 2007–2008 through a CMU program: 30
