Outdoor track, field conclude season on high note

Last Saturday, the Carnegie Mellon men's and women's track and field teams hosted their second tri-meet of the season against Duquesne University, Franciscan University, Allegheny College, and Slippery Rock University. Some of the runners who did not get to participate in the University Athletic Association (UAA) championships had an opportunity to compete in the meet.

Men’s tennis places third at UAA championship

The 16th-ranked Carnegie Mellon men’s tennis team competed in the University Athletic Association (UAA) tournament this past weekend, taking third place, an improvement over last year’s fourth-place finish.

Club baseball concludes 2008 season

The Carnegie Mellon club baseball team had a busy week playing three games: one against the Robert Morris University Colonials and a doubleheader against the University of Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday.

Rowing club competes at Governor’s Cup Regatta

The Carnegie Mellon rowing club traveled this past weekend to the University of Charleston in Charleston, W.Va. to compete in the 34th annual Governor’s Cup Regatta.

ATHLETE PROFILE: Sami Simmons

Finishing off her junior year, Sami Simmons was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week and has set two school records in the triple jump and long jump this season. Simmons shared her outlook on next season and her final year at Carnegie Mellon with The Tartan.

Intramural season ends this week

As the school year winds down, the intramural sports season comes to a close. Softball and indoor soccer playoffs are underway with swimming, track, Frisbee, and golf right around the corner. The large number of activities offered this season makes the biggest IM participants focus their attention on the championships.
