The bill, which is set to close at least one-third of Texas’s abortion clinics immediately, has had an intensely controversial history over the past several months.

Marriage equality in N.J. deserves attention
New Jersey became the 14th state to recognize same-sex marriage on Oct. 21. Hundreds of couples, many of whom had been committed to each other for years, lined the streets outside of Newark’s city hall in the early hours of the day, eager to finally be granted equal benefits under both state and federal law. For these couples, certainly, it was a day of joy a long time coming.

Share blame for the world’s climate shame
An article published in last week’s issue of The Tartan titled “Address global warming to sidestep dire effects” stated that people of first world nations must aid those whom they have affected, seeing as first world nations have contributed most of the pollution that is perpetuating global warming.

To appreciate the disturbing gender divide in popular media, one only has to take a hard look at two of the most talked-about artists in recent months. Robin Thicke, the man behind “Blurred Lines,” and Miley Cyrus, who made news last week with her hit “Wrecking Ball,” almost beg for a comparison.
