    Odds are, you haven’t heard of the city I’m studying abroad in this semester. It’s called Granada, and it is in the south of Spain. It’s a city, but a small one, with a population of around 240,000 people. (Pittsburgh, for context, has a population of around 300,000.) Despite Granada’s lack of international prominence, it’s an absolutely fantastic place to spend a semester.

    I'm studying abroad in Spain this semester, so I'm trying to take it easy with my relentless TV obsession. I tell you this because Agent Carter is one of the two shows from back home that I'm still following, and I'm sticking with it because it's that good.

  • Tales from Abroad: the beautiful Alhambra

    I’ve always loved the physical signs of history. I love that the rushing tide of human life has carved its structures and swirls into the world. One of the reasons I chose to study abroad in Granada, Spain this semester was that Spain’s unique history of interaction between Muslim, Christian, and Jewish cultures permeates the city. A prominent example of this exchange is the Alhambra.

  • Hebert named head of Robotics Institute

    Carnegie Mellon robotics professor Martial Hebert became the director of the university’s Robotics Institute as of Nov. 15, after the Robotics Institute announced the change in leadership on Nov. 6. Hebert, who specializes in computer vision and perception in autonomous systems, will replace robotics professor Matthew Mason as director.
