Crew teams open season at Murphy Cup
Strong performances highlighted the first regatta of the 2005 season for the Carnegie Mellon crew team. The 23rd Annual Murphy Cup Regatta was held Saturday in Philadelphia, PA and hosted by Temple University. Both Carnegie Mellon?s men?s and women?s crew teams were in attendance. The men?s soccer team dropped a 1?1 decision in overtime, losing 4?3 on penalty kicks, on Saturday to the Allegheny College Gators in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was in action Thursday as they hosted Penn State Altoona, coming away with a 3?0 victory. All three of the matches were relatively close with scores of 30?28, 30?23, and 30?25.

Volleyball competes in round robin
In the first round of the UAA Round Robin Volleyball Tournament on last Saturday and Sunday, the women Tartans came away with a third place finish, tying with Union College. Winning three games a piece, Washington University at St. Louis and New York University tied for first and Emory University and University of Rochester tied for second, winning two games each.
